The Latest...

Next up on the calendar is the annual Kinnikinick getaway in the pines, August 8-10.

Joe Motil will lead a work party to put boat-saving bumpers on the Tempe Town Lake docks, beginning at 6am Saturday, July 19. The city has paid for the dock cushions, but is asking for us to remove the old, ineffective bumps and put on the new ones. If 6 am sounds early to you (as it does to me), Joe would be happy to have you join him as early as you can.

Two major items for the August 12 membership meeting: a report on Joe Motil's trip to Catalina aboard his too-small-for-the-trip Megabyte and crew recruiting night. If you need crew or would like to crew during one of the upcoming fall race series, come by the meeting for a "speed dating" night where you can meet the candidates and see if you can strike up a speedy relationship.

Renew your membership or sign up for a new one. We're using a new online registration system now called Active. Once you sign up for an event or renew your membership, the system will maintain your information so you won't need to re-enter it each time!

Sign up now for the North U Tactics Seminar scheduled for October 4 in Phoenix. More information here.

Sign up for the Tempe Town Lake Heat Stroke Series, now underway. The "on-time" entry deadline has passed, but you can still enter. Results here.

Temple Town Lake officials are asking everyone who sails at both Lake Pleasant and TTL to be cautious about bringing Quagga mussels to TTL. Here's information on the nasty critters. And a story from the June 17 New York Times.

Click here to see the new crew list. And click here to sign up. The list is now updated and ready to use.

Do you know that if you're an AYC member you can "adopt" a boat for TTL Sunday? Read about it here.
